The Cape Verdean Museum Exhibit will reopen on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. The hours of operation are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and on Saturdays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. The Cape Verdean Museum Exhibit is located at 1003 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island.
New artifacts, pictures, maps and books have been added and the museum has many new and wonderful changes. Please come and view the history of Cape Verde, Immigration from Cape Verde and the Independence of Cape Verde.
Also showcased is how the Cape Verdeans settled, worked and their many accomplishments and contributions since their arrival in the New England area. The story is told with pictures and artifacts of the Whalers, Longshoremen, and workers on Cranberry Bogs. View Cape Verdean music of the old and new, Sport Athletes of Cape Verde, Cape Verdean Athletes in the New England area and Cape Verdean Athletes at the Olympics.
